When to Call a Plumber

Calling a plumber is nobody’s idea of a good thing. If you have to call one, it usually means things are not good in your home. Plus, hiring a professional plumber is not cheap. This is because plumbers are licensed professionals with many years of training and practice on the job.

Recently, we spoke with a plumber in Melbourne, Florida to find out when you should probably call a plumber. These are signs that something bigger might be afoot.

Knocking or Moaning Pipes

These noises are not normal. If your pipes make a jackhammering noise then it is probably a sign that there is a pressure imbalance. If these signs are ignored it could possibly cause a pipe leak or pipe break. A plumber can make the necessary repairs which will fix this problem.

Newly Discovered Low Water Pressure

If your water pressure suddenly starts getting lower, then bigger problems may be at hand. Clogged pipes, damaged or leaking pipes, or water main issues could be your problem. These are usually beyond your average DIY homeowner’s ability to fix.

Regular Leaks

If you are constantly addressing leaks this may also be due to a water pressure issue. There are also other possible factors causing this to happen. Again, you may end up with a burst pipe and end up paying many thousands of dollars to repair that sort of damage. If you notice discoloring on your wall or ceiling this is usually a sign of a leak.

Frequent Clogs or Backups

Clogs can be a simple fix if you are lucky. A quick plumbing snake treatment may solve it. However, If the clog doesn’t resolve after a snaking, then you may have deeper issues. There may be damage to your sewage main. This usually occurs when old iron pipes collapse or tree roots break into the pipe.

A sewage backup can make your home unlivable while it is being repaired due to smell and wastewater. You will then have to stay in a hotel or BNB. This adds to the overall cost of the repairs. Cutting the problem off before it gets really bad is your best option.

Most times clogs are a simple buildup of grease or soap mixed with human hair. But if you have a luring pipe problem, you want to discover it as soon as humanly possible and get it taken care of.

Conclusion

Calling a plumber may not be something you want to do but $300 now can save you $10,000 down the road. Prevention of a plumbing disaster is worth every penny of your money and every second of your time. You can ask any plumber about this and they will all agree. They have dealt with small issues before they got big and have dealt with problems after they got out of hand. They know the differences very well.

If you have been wondering if you should call a plumber for that sound you keep hearing, consider this your wakeup call. Call a plumber right now and get it taken care of.
